Description

The aim of this advanced translation course is to familiarize students with the challenges that a translator faces in practice. However, the course will also make a link to academic disciplines that are relevant to the translator's work such as linguistics (comparative grammar, semantics and pragmatics, lexicography and terminography), translation theory and culture studies. It will also focus on the ethics of the field

Objectives

To equip students with theoretical background on translation studies as a discipline and help them acquire the skills and effective strategies of translation in various fields, including the field of mass communication, politics, diplomacy, law, and literature, as well as their subfields.
