The aim of this course is introducing students to British literature. It covers the period from the prehistoric era to the present day, focusing on the most significant developments of various periods. In this course students will study texts from different literary genres, in both poetry and prose.
- Objectives

To equip students with knowledge about the major works of British literature following a chronological order. Students will be introduced to writers of various literary periods and to their works. At the end of the semester students will submit themselves to the written exam to test not only the gained knowledge, but mainly the ability to use this knowledge in literary critical analysis.

- Identify and trace the development of British literature from the beginning to the modern period by explaining key historical, philosophical, social, theological, and literary movements and exploring how these movements are reflected in the representative literature of the time.
