Ky kurs do të trajtojë teorinë e linguistikës në përgjithësi dhe asaj Angleze në veçanti. Studentët do të mësojnë në mënyrë më të detajuar rreth degëve të gjuhësisë përkatësisht, fonetikës e fonologjisë, morfologjisë e sintaksës, semantikës dhe pragmatikës si dhe linguistikës historike.

Qëllimi i këtij kursi është të pajisi studentët me dije të avancuara përtej nivelit të hyrjes rreth teorisë gjuhësore dhe degëve te saj: fonetikën, morfologjinë, sintaksën, semantikën dhe pragmatikën. Theks të veçantë do të vihet në strukturën e Anglishtes.
