This course offers students the opportunity to better understand and analyze the patterns of communication in the context of interpersonal relationships in functional families. The content of this course include family systems, communication patterns, family roles, power, decision making, conflict, stress and coping with his environment, improving family communication. This course is designed to develop your understanding of, and ability to analyze, communication within families. The overall goal is to help you learn how through communication we develop, maintain, enhance, or disrupt family relationships. It will be discussed a variety of family forms in contemporary society, and we will review research onseveral issues pertaining to today’s families.

The course: 1-Will provide the opportunity to explain the concepts and theories of communication. 2-To understand the variety and diversity of family structure and organization and the impact of these elements on family patterns of interaction. 3-Comprehend the diversity and variety of family structure and organization and the impact of that structure and organization on family patterns of interaction and communication within families. 4-Comprehend various theories about family interaction, and concepts within family interaction form communication perspective.
