Description

This course is designed to build on students’ current understanding of psychological assessment in developing expertise for its practical application in different assessment settings. Moreover the course designed to provide students with an introduction to the principles of psychological testing and assessment. Through both didactic instruction and hands-on experience, students will learn about the history, development, theories, and applications of the process of psychological testing and assessment. The process of psychological assessment will be explored in detail, from making effective referrals to understanding and utilizing the resulting evaluation reports.

Objectives

Students will: 1. Acquire knowledge of the various assessment methods and techniques used in different assessment settings. 2. Acquire an understanding of the principles and applications of the legal,ethical, and professional issues involved in the administration and interpretation of assessment methods. 3. Acquire an understanding of the uses and limitations of the assessment methods 4. Acquire knowledge of the procedures used to select and use appropriate assessment methods depending on the assessment settings.
